Leave Ixtapa head towards Zihuatanejo. The hill was, yes, WAS daunting. Not on an E-Zee bike. As we navigate through El Limón watching for the dogs having their morning siesta on the path, we experience Zihuatanejo waking up. The ladies washing clothes is in the river. The rooster crowing to greet the new day.
Continuing on past the soccer fields. Olympic pool and great public facilities. Over the bridge past the City Hall where the civic action happens.
Turning right on the canal street it takes us through Plaza Kyoto leading us to the newly renovated waterfront. The bronze statues, the intricate interlocking brickwork, the awesome basketball court, past the daily fish market to the newly renovated pier. A short rest/ photo op and begin thinking about the return portion of the tour.
We retrace our steps waving to the locals and tourists we encounter on our way. Now, we face the long, long hill returning to Ixtapa.
Guess what? On an E-ZEE bike it is NO SWEAT RIDING. We cruise down the hill enjoying the view of Ixtapa and the Sierra Madre as we make our way to the town of La Puerta. Here we stop at a local family-owned juice and torta tienda and have a delicious jugo verde.
From there we head back to Ixtapa where we end our experience. Wow, how cool is that!
